R.Balki aka R.Balakrishnan, former group chairman of an advertising agency, Lowe Lintas; a brilliant diverse screenwriter and director, who gave us some vibrant movies like Paa, Ki & Ka, Shamitabh, Cheeni Kum, English Vinglish and Pad Man, a handful of vivid films conceiving spectacular concepts.

He started his career at the age of 23 in Mudra, later became one of the most acclaimed TVC gurus in India. His famous works include, “Dhaag achche hein” by Surf excel, “Jaago Re Jaago Re” by Tata Tea and “Walk while you talk” by Idea cellular.

 

Tanishq’s Second marriage, where the film supported the idea of second marriage; Lifebuoy- Help a child reach 5, which aimed at promoting a single habit- wash hands with soap, a fathers journey to thank god for his first child reaching 5 are some thought-provoking ad by Balki.

 

In 2016, our 52-year-old creative rebel said goodbye to ad film industry after completing three decades of a successful journey.
