An Era of Video Streaming in Indian Film
In the last couple of years Amazon Prime and Netflix has shaken things a little bit. Other services in Film and TV market had a huge dropdown as millennial chose to move on to streaming services.
From documentaries, web series, drama to blockbusters, all are made available for the viewers, large collection of multi- language international films are yet another striking feature for all the film buffs out there.
As per the survey report by livemint, 48% of millennial viewers are using online streaming for entertainment whereas other 43% still confides in watching cable TV. But it is crystal clear that the Indian millennial are ditching cable TV for digital contents. Gradually viewers are becoming streamers, the main reason behind this huge overturn is that the audience is exposed to wide options, different contents, different genres, different language in a single platform which can be watched according to the viewer’s flexibility, no more waiting or hiccups.
This era is to be marked as the rise of video streaming indeed, there are 30 plus video streaming launched in India and some of them are Hotstar, Hooq, Voot, Jio Cinema, Eros Now, Sony Liv.
