Facebook has recently been renamed Meta, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new futuristic company, Metaverse. Since that day, Tech World has been engaged in heated debates and debates about what this metaverse is and how it can change the Internet forever.

A metaverse is a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection. Basically it’s a universe in which you can live as part of your life. The concept of the Metaverse has existed for a long time. And now that Facebook (or better Meta) is in control, you can see the results right away. Perfect results can’t be expected. Each and every step brings you closer to the goal. How do you open a portal to another universe, the Metaverse? We are not. We can do that. There is no such metaverse. It’s not perfect. Therefore, people do not have complete access to what we may do in the future.

Augmented reality and virtual reality aren’t new. They were round for a few time. And you can have used it at a few point. It won’t appear like much. However, they do assist in constructing the Metaverse.

Meta’s vision for the Metaverse is to remove the feeling of alienation that you feel when you look at the screen and experience things. If someone sends you a video, you will see it indifferently. You do not experience the joy that people share in video. Meta wants to make you happy. Meta will be part of what you see, not a third party viewer. How cool is it? You can share moments digitally with your loved ones. Another universe paves a way in front of you. You can be digitally where you want to be, even if you don’t have a physical presence. Once the Metaverse is fully developed, time and space are no longer an issue.
Augmented Reality – Metaverse
Augmented reality is perhaps more familiar to us. The most ecstatic experience you have ever had is Pokemon Go. It is a form of augmented reality in which the surrounding environment plays an important role. This particular example may not be the most delightful. Imagine holding your phone in front of what looks like a cafe. And from there, you can see more detailed information about the place, such as reviews and ratings. This can be a huge help in your decision. This is a possible example we can all imagine. Metaverse promises to do better than that.
Metaverse to Reality
Work on the metaverse has just begun. This will take several years or even decades. Time and effort needs to be in place to make metaverse work. It takes time and effort for such a great idea that is.
Anyone who has played VR games knows how clumsy it can be. The concept of the game would be great, but current technology is limiting its execution. Games like Beat Saber can be successful in virtual reality. However, VR chatting, which is closer to the metaverse in terms of its goal, is cartoonish with ‘not very good’ graphics. You can understand it by looking at the gameplay of a VR game.
Once realized, the metaverse will become an important part of our lives, and along with it will be the meta. Concerns are arising due to this. Facebook, Meta don’t have a reputation that the company never put’s customers first even though it’s top-notch. This is a disturbing thought.
Is Metaverse good?
We will interact with them in a virtual world with human-created virtual avatars. Some people may see this as a way out of boring everyday life. Your digital health can be at risk. People have expressed concerns about the same. Will it bring people together digitally and take away real life? People would prefer the digital world they built than the dark real world they were doomed to. In the early stages of development of the metaverse, nothing convincing can be said. So, all we can do is wait and see what the future holds.
